Owner Comments:

First year of the new Buffalo nickel. The reverse had the Type I raised mound changed to a line or plane an efforts to reduce wear. The Five Cents was now in a recessed area beneath the line or plane. Buffalo nickels with the revised design are considered to be Type II.

Est. mintage: 29.8M according to Whitman Guidebook of Buffalo and Jefferson nickels.
