California Fractional - A well struck orange-yellow privately minted California gold piece that was struck for circulation, through this example probably saw little usage. The obverse lady Liberty is nicely detailed and is surrounded by thirteen stars, while the reverse shows some weakness in the lettering. There is an “N” mint mark at the 6 o’clock position on the reverse showing it was minted by Antoine Louis Nouizillet.

California Fractional - A coin that looks primative compared to the regular mint types, but with highly reflective fields, though weakly struck on reverse (from HA #1136-10035 Jan-2010)
