Owner Comments:
In 1992, the new Republic of Hungary coinage was released for circulation. Coins of 1, 2, and 5 forint were made available, however, only 2000 pieces of the 10, 20, 50, and 100 forint denominations were released, exclusively in mint sets. These 1992 mint sets are now exceedingly rare and expensive, and even moreso are the 1992 proof sets, for which only 1000 pieces were produced.
This is the 5 forint pattern. 50 pieces were struck. This pattern matches the 1992 business strikes, however, the bird's beak was modified slightly starting with the issues of 1993.
