3 Kreuzer (groschen) issued upon the death of Lothar Franz von Schönborn-Buchheim (1655-1729), the Archbishop-Elector of Mainz and the Bishop of Bamberg. Known for his support of baroque architecture, most notably with the commissioning of the Schloss Weissenstein palace in Pommersfelden, Bavaria. Also known as sterbegroschen (“death groschen”). Classified as KM#98, Krug 379, Slg. Pick 637, Helm. 651.
