The Kisatchie National Forest Quarter was released on April 13, 2015 as the twenty-seventh coin in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

The Kisatchie National Forest, located in Louisiana, was established in 1936 and its name is derived from a tribe of Kichai Indians. As described on the U.S. Mint site, the reverse features a wild turkey in flight over blue stem grass with long leaf pine in the background.
