Lyman Allen #8.08 (KM #169) - Mintage: 1,010,000
General
Public demand for minor coinage was high in 1912 and in June 1912, only 306,748 remained in treasury vaults. With a mintage of just over 1 million coins, this can be one of the more difficult dates to obtain in mint state since most of the mintage probably went into circulation as soon as it arrived in Manila.
This Coin
Despite the scruffy appearance in the photo of the obverse, this MS61 graded coin exhibits a clean and brilliant surface with very good eye appeal. Notice the die cracks connecting the U in UNITED to the denticles on the reverse and between the E and N of TEN on the obverse.
