Bryan Dollars .. "You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a Cross of Gold.".. William Jennings Bryan. The elections of the late 1800's were all about the Silver vs Gold Standard back when the dollar was worth something. In those days our dollar was backed by Gold equal to the amount a coin weighted. Bryan on the other hand wanted it to be backed by Silver at a Ratio of 16 to 1. In spite of his famous "Cross of Gold Speech" he was ridiculed. But if you do not get the math .. it all means is these are Rare and in Demand !
