Struck in Aluminum with a plain edge

Obverse:
Bust of LIBERTY facing left with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST above and the date is below and stars on each side (7 left and 6 right) .

Reverse:
The reverse of the 1883 w/the Roman Numeral V within a wreath of corn and cotton. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the upper perimeter and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is at the bottom and no CENTS.

Comments:
A rare pattern with only six specimens in the Saul Teichman roster. The present near-Gem can be identified by a small area of dark toning near IN, and displays ice-blue fields and moderately frosted high points. Liberty's neck displays minute retained laminations, and a curly lint mark crosses star 11. The strike is razor-sharp.
