On the 23rd of April 1789 the King, accompanied by the Queen, Princes, Princesses, members of the House of Lords, members of the House of Commons, along with various high officials, proceeded in a solemn procession to St. Paul’s Cathedral and attended a Thanksgiving service celebrating the recovery of his majesty from his recent bout of “madness”.
