The year 2012 to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee the Royal Mint released a special Issue St George and the Dragon Gold Half Sovereign Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The new reverse design of the 2012 Half Sovereign depicts a Modern St George and the Dragon which has been designed by Paul Day while the obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty The Queen by Ian Rank Broadley.
