Owner Comments:

In 1992, a new 200 forint denomination was introduced in .500 silver. This was a circulating type commemorating the National Bank, and it was only produced from 1992-1993. Dies for the business strikes were produced both by the Hungarian Mint and the Birmingham Mint in England.

This is a business strike version of the 200 forint pattern of the type produced at the Birmingham Mint. These pieces can be distinguished easily from the Budapest dies, as they have the probaveret on the obverse underneath the bank, while the Budapest dies had the probaveret on the reverse. 50 pieces were struck.
