Struck in copper with plain edge
Obverse: Bust of Liberty wearing a Cap ornamented with 2 stars and a ribbon flows down and around her shoulder with LIBERTY inscribed with RAISED letters and letter “B” in the back of Liberty Neck.. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wraps around the top perimeter and our Mottos IN GOD WE TRUST is within a scroll below
Reverse: The denomination 50 Cents and the date 1870 is in the center of the wreath of Cotton and corn and inscription STANDARD is at the top.
Comment: Each side has even, deeper brown patina. No obvious marks are seen on either side.
