Double weight (56.69g) taler struck to commemorate the 88th birthday of August II. Attributed to the Zellerfeld mint. Dav-LS87c, Welter-785, 66mm. Minted a few years after the death of Augustus the Younger. Taler mint mark of Julius Philipp Eisendraht, who worked under Rudolph August in Zellerfeld from 1672 to 1675. Pedigreed to the Preussag collection (lot 86).
