Critique: Another rather stern-looking 4th Crowned Head portrait of Her Majesty QE2, with a single coin mintage of only 7354. Generally all gold coins sold on EBay in recent years are offered via fixed price sale, but for some reason, the former owner of this coin decided to try his luck with the auction format. Wow, what a huge mistake! Since this is a rather common proof date, there was almost no interest at all in bidding, and I was able to purchase it for less than melt value. The poor fellow was even kind enough to pay the cost to ship it to me, and for good measure he included the COA (coin #5331). I was going to write and ask him if he still had the original box to send me, but I was too embarrassed to do it.
