This near Gem specimen is the single finest NGC certified example of this Allen variety. When viewed under light this specimen is lustrous with beautiful hot pink, aqua, purple, and blue toning particularly on the obverse upper left quadrant and throughout the reverse. The obverse is well struck with good detail. The reverse is a typical weak strike which lacks detail in the left center particularly on the bottom feathers of the eagles wing and foot and the upper the left portion of the shield. Two of the stars are weakly struck and another two stars are completely absent.
