It was not common to have a queen ruling in her own right within the Arab Muslim world 1000 years ago. It is said she wore a veil to interact with men in order to administer her state. She ruled for a really long time. If she wasn't doing something right that probably wouldn't have happened. This coin was struck at "Adan". modern Aden, a city in use as a major port since the 500's BC if not earlier. Since 2015 it is the temporary capital of Yemen while their civil war sorts out. This is the only dinar of this type certified by NGC.
