With a mintage of only 300,000 the 1916-S 5 Centavos is the lowest mintage 5 Centavos business strike and is a key date in the 5 Centavos series. This attractive specimen features gentle surface tone and a crisp strike, with a full expression of cartwheel brilliance beneath. The 1916-S 5 Centavos is a conditional rarity in GEM condition with only nine specimens graded MS65 or higher by NGC and PCGS combined. This specimen is tied (with one other) for the finest yet recognized by NGC, while only 5 examples certify finer by PCGS.
