William Pitt (the Younger) became the youngest Prime Minister of Great Britain when he was selected in 1783 at the age of 23. He began his political career as a Whig, supporting parliamentary reform and opposing the war with America. As Prime Minister he became a Tory and supporter of the policies of King George III.
He was the son of William Pitt (the Older) who also served a Prime Minister in the mid-1700's.
