Heraclius usurped the throne from Phocas, who usurped the throne from Maurice Tiberius. Then, not long on the job, he started hearing that the Arabs were acting up. "What, the Jews?" he thought. But it was something new, which would result in hundreds of years of nice Muslim gold coins.
