AN ARAPAHO TOMAHAWK SOCIETY EFFIGY STICK
Carved in the likeness of a horse's head at top, brass tacks for eyes, a thatch of black hair sticking up from behind, notched repeatedly below the muzzle and colored with red dye, the remainder down to the pointed butt end coated with an ochre dye, a band of quill wrapping and hide thongs about the neck, a second band added lower and suspending quilled fringe and a horsehair drop.
