Owner Comments:

A nice looking 1853 MS-62 BN C-1 1/2 cent which was graded by NGC.When this half cent Was struck in Philadelphia the PresIdent of the United States was probably Franklin Pierce. He was our 14th President and William R.King became our Nation’s 13th Vice President. However,Millard Fillmore was President until March 3,1853 so it is possible this coin could have been struck during the end of his term in early 1853.On March 2,1853 both the Washington and Oregon Territories were organized. Also,on December 30,1853 the United States purchases what is now part of Arizona and New Mexico.
