Close to being uncirculated this coin was graded AU-55 BN by NGC.It is a nice looking 1/2 cent and attributed as die variety C-1 by NGC.Andrew Jackson was our country’s 7th President during this coin’s striking in Philadelphia.He was the Commanding General at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812 and his victory there was a most decisive win for the United States as the War came to an end in 1815.Jackson went on to win a second term as President.During his first term John C. Calhoun served as our nation’s Vice President and during his second term Martin Van Buren became the 8th Vice President of the United States.Jackson’s nickname was “Old Hickory”.
