1863 Indian Cent in Copper-Nickel, PR65
Rare Reeded-Edge Pattern, Judd-300
1863 1C One Cent, Judd-300, Pollock-361, Low R.7, PR65 PCGS. Eagle Eye Photo Seal and Card included. Struck from regular obverse and reverse dies on a standard copper-nickel planchet, but with a reeded edge instead of the usual plain edge. This is the Low Date format. The surfaces display pleasing copper-tan color with a reverse tinge of orange, and considerable cameo contrast on each side. The devices are fully struck and almost no carbon is evident. Only a half-dozen or so examples are known of this curious reeded edge pattern. A similar number of Uncirculated pieces are also known.
