This coin is a scarce Rarity-4 Overton die variety (O-121) 1795 Half Dollar in VF-Details Cleaned condition.This die variety has the Obverse Y in LIBERTY repunched over a Star! The cleaning appears to have occurred many years ago which gives the coin a silvery gray appearance that is very pleasing to the eye.These photos were taken with my iPhone camera and I think they came out reasonably well.
At the time this coin was made George Washington was the 1st President of the United States and John Adams was Vice President.
