Owner Comments:

The silver Bicentennial issues were struck in San Francisco for collectors in 1975-1976. Eleven million three-coin sets were sold making them relatively easy to find today. Only the Type 1 design (bold letter reverse) was used with the silver dollar issue.
However, based on mintage numbers, these type coins are the most rare of 20th century except for the 1921 Peace dollar.

This satiny example is one of 96 graded by NGC in MS68 with only 4 graded higher.
