Here you can see the masterful engraving by George Jakob Felsing from 1824. The engraving is based on the work by Felsing’s teacher Giuseppe Longhi. As you can see from the close up of his eye, the engraving is very detailed with darker tones on the right of the face allowing a more 3-dimensional interpretation of his engraving.

Jakob Felsing lived from 1802-1883. He was a German engraver who studied in Milan Italy. He became a professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze before moving back to Germany in 1832.
