COLONIAL CANADA 1/2 PENNY "MERCURY HEAD" TOKEN : It is an anonymous halfpenny token of British origin struck by the British Copper Company based in Wales who, in 1808, bought the Walthamstowe site in Essex by the river Lea in the early 1800's for local or colonial (Canada) use. Listed in "The Token Book" (by Spink) as Withers #630 to #633, valued at 5 pounds (British) in Fine condition.
