Special "30th Anniversary" Issue - It has never really been my habit or even inclination to get heavily involved in things like varieties and special issues within a set, especially with regard to these silver bullion coins. My interest is usually broad enough that I have a hard time getting what I need to fill slots without messing with special issues and coins that are basically identical to what I already have in the set. That's not to say that I'm not at all interested in these coins, but I'm stretched thin enough as it is and the budget won't tolerate such collecting adventurism. I decided to make an exception with this one, in part, because it commemorates what this set is all about, modern bullion coins. It's hard to say "no" to a coin like that.

It's worth pointing out though that these coins do not recognize the 30th anniversary of the Panda series. They recognize the 30th anniversary of China's precious medal commemorative coins, which started a few years before the panda series.
