I dedicate this coin and particularly for the reverse of the coin to our ancestors the Craig family of Westmorland County, Pennsylvania, circa 1730-1775.For ancestor Lt. Samuel Craig who carried the first revolutionary war flag west of the Allegany’s known as the Proctor Flag of Westmorland County, Pennsylvania. The device of the flag and the coin is a snake, in coin cut into pieces and in the flag, coiled ready to strike. The symbolism of the snake in reovlutionary America embodied the resolve and willingness of the colonist to fight for their american identity.
