Owner Comments:

NGC AU53 Listed as KM 21.2 on slab (but it should be 21.3, I will be double checking this) and from the R.L. Lissner Collection. An extremely rare coin and attractive for this rare provisional issue. Likely the finest extent.

CNG Auction August 1 & 2, 2014 Listing Details:

Very deeply toned AU with a hint of the silver color poking through. Extremely rare type and only specimen graded of this type. Listed in KM for $4800 in XF. Ex. Whittier Collection (Heritage 410, 2 June 2006), lot 16930; ex. Kai Philipsen Collection.

icolloector.com auction listing: (Same sale as Heritage with annoying higher price).

Republic 1/2 Real 1835, KM21.1, XF40 NGC, exceptionally bold details with attractive toning, extremely rare grade for this crude provisional coinage. The obverse features a volcano with an S to either side and the reverse has a column over water with an 1 on each side. Ex-Kai Philipsen Collection. (sold for $4500 - icollector.com - June 3, 2006).

Heritage Sale:

Republic 1/2 Real 1835, KM21.1, XF40 NGC, exceptionally bold details with attractive toning, extremely rare grade for this crude provisional coinage. The obverse features a volcano with an S to either side and the reverse has a column over water with an 1 on each side. Ex-Kai Philipsen Collection. (Sold for $4,312.50 (includes BP ) June 2, 2006)

The funny thing is that the original Whittier Slab listed the KM variety as KM 21.3, which I believe is correct. The coin was also upgraded, which I think is accurate for this issue.
