An evenly circulated and solid large size note from this Berks County bank that retains a bold pen signature of the bank's cashier O.P. Grimley. The president was John R. Indiana, PA The FNB Ch. # (E)313 PMG 25 $20 1902 DB Fr. 642 SN 3369/R402320 pp B/125 dtd. Feb. 25, 1903. A two State bank and earliest of 3 chartered banks located here. Indiana is a borough in and the county seat of Indiana County. The population was 13,975 in the 2010 census. The borough and the region as a whole promotes itself as the "Christmas Tree Capital of the World" because the national Christmas Tree Grower's Association was founded there. There are still a large number of Christmas tree farms in the area. The largest employer in the borough today is Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
