Although I focus on Large Type notes, sometimes a small note will catch my eye if it's a value. Nice colors on this note. Excellent value.

Every time I see a Thomas Flynn note, it seems to be a note of excellent type appeal for collectors and excellent eye appeal. I bought Flynn's PMG 65 Battleship note S/N J105 and it is a great note. This note has excellent eye appeal and I believe the 1928 light green seals with the gold clause are excellent notes to purchase at a modest price with very good investment potential. Paid $249.

Continuous pursuit to finish the portrait set. Well, I don't think even the wealthiest collectors could finish the Hamilton portrait set as it includes three $1000 notes. That includes a couple of $1000 gold certificates as well. Not only are they rare but the lowliest grade is around $30,000. However, it is amazing to observe that when currency collecting became a force, obviously old, large notes were coveted. But recent notes since the 1950's when all U.S. currency was more or less standardized, they were so common that not many folks preserved a common old $10 note in GEM condition. This is a great example, only EIGHT of these notes have been graded!! This being the 3rd rank in grade. Amazing these relatively recent notes are so rare in uncirculated condition.

Completed the large head collection. A strange quirk in the history of our notes. They came onto the scene replacing the note design we grew up with and were quickly replaced with colorized more tamper proof notes of another design. Big heads are the Susan B. Anthony's of the note world as I like to say.

Recent star notes under $100 for 66+ notes are probably a good long term play.
