Owner's Description

Medal (Token), 1863, Cu, WILSON'S MEDAL, Patriotic Civil War Token, Fuld F-112/396A, NGC MS64BN, Cert# 548442-058. Obv. Washington's bust surrounded by stars and dated 1863. The reverse contains a wreath and reads “Wilson's 1 Medal.” The slogan "Wilson's Medal" is thought to refer to one James G. Wilson, a contemprary engraver who perhaps worked in conjunction with diesinker Charles D. Horter at the time. This specimen is blessed with red and blue incandescent colors. Attractive.
