Medal, 1892-3, AE, GERMAN VILLAGE JOHNS & OSTENDORP GOOD FOR ONE CUP COCOA, Columbian World's Fair, Eglit-472, NGC MS63, Cert# 3469131-003. (1892-93) Johns & Ostendorp, German Village, Good For Token, Eglit-472. NGC graded MS-63. Brass, Octogonal, Dotted Borders, Front and Rv., otherwise Token is Uniface. 27mm. The 1890's were known for the wide spread use of small brass and aluminum good for tokens at bars, hotel, and stores. This one is very rare and high grade good for token was issued at the Columbian Exposition and in the German Village. Its value was "1 cup of cocoa. Ex Goldberg #75, Lot 1936, Ex Hoffman Collection of World's Columbian Exposition Medals.
