Owner's Description

Bright golden olive around the devices and over most of the reverse fields, while the more exposed obverse fields display light golden brown and blue mottling. A few dark flecks are scattered about and there are a couple of tiny oxidation spots nestled into the reverse design. Attractive overall. Dies by John D. Lovett. Provenance: From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens. Earlier ex Charles McSorley Collection, Part II, Presidential Coin and Antique, July 1998, lot 83. Only (2) of this type in the NGC census in brass as of 8/2018. (1) MS 65 DPL finer: sold for $1,880.00 in a 2016 Heritage auction.
