Owner's Description
Medal, 1933-1934, BR, INDIAN HEAD DOLLAR, CENTURY OF PROGRESS, Chicago, IL, So Called Dollar HK-470, NGC MS65RB, Cert# 1895418-011. Size: 33.3mm. This piece could just as easily qualified for the fully Red designation. This issue seems to be more of a copper composition than the HK suggestion of brass. The Indian Head lucky token was distributed at the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition and World's Fair in Chicago. Obv. Indian head, full front with feather headdress, superimposed on city skyline; above all A Century of Progress; at neck of Indian, to l. 1833; to r. 1933-4; below Chicago; Rv. In center circle is spread-winged eagle facing l.; outside circle, around are 5 stars at l. and 4 stars at r.; at top Take Me; at bottom For Luck; beaded border. A Very Attractive Original Medal.
