Medal, 1859, WM, NASSAU WATER WORKS, BROOKLYN NEW YORK, United States, So Called Dollar HK-589B White Metal, NGC MS60, Cert# 2152392-011. Celebration Medal for Water being brought to Brooklyn 1859. Difficult to obtain in Mint State, (Rarity-5, but rarer in Mint State). Obv. Neptune seated, facing to l., r. hand working lever, l. arm around pipe from which water gushes; below, on base, microscopic F.B.S. & H.; below, Commcd. July / 1856; above, around, Nassau Water Works; Rv. Edifice with tall smokestack; on edifice base, microscopic F.B. Smith & Hartmann; above, around, Water Introduced in the City of Brooklyn / December 1858; below edifice, Celebrated April / 1859. Attractive. HK-589a Bronze. 33mm. Rulau NY 2006.
