Medal, 1904, BR, LA PURCHASE ADMISSION SOUVENIR "COIN", St. Louis, MO, So Called Dollar, HK-306 BR, NGC MS63PL, Cert# 2576496-010. Octagonal Souvenir Admission, HK-306, MS63 Proof like. Serial-stamped No. 28481, octagonal, 33.3 mm, "scarce" (HK, 1963). The organizers of the round and octagonal souvenir "coins" apparently disappeared after failing to secure either concession privileges or recognition at the fair, and coin-souvenir dealers bought up the octagonal issue, according to the 1963 Hibler-Kappen edition. Crowned St. Louis Bust, Legend around, Dates at sides, Rx. Map, Eagle, Banners and Serial Number in Vignette, 1904, Legend around. Attractive.
