Owner's Description

This slot contains a nice collection of BroadStruck Coins - BROADSTRIKE: There are three dies that form a coin during the striking process: First is the Obverse Die that has the obverse image of the coin. Secondly the Reverse Die that has the reverse image of the coin and thirdly the Retaining Collar that forms the reeding or the printed information onto the edge side of the coin. The Broadstruck coin is a coin that was struck with the Planchet outside of the retaining collar. This broadstruck coin will have all of the design elements of the coin to include the denticles around the edge of the coin. If any of these features are missing, the coin will be classified as an Off-Center Coin. There are two types of Broadstrike Coins: Centered Broadstrikes which are the most desirable and the Off-Center Broadstrike which are not centered but still have all the design features of the coin.
