Owner's Description

Slightly dusky gray toning is seen on the obverse, while the reverse is essentially brilliant with strong prooflike reflectivity in the fields. A bit of light handling, but no serious marks. Dies by George H. Lovett. The reverse die is the same used on the Ft. Sumter So-Called dollars type 2. Another example in MS 63 sold for $529.00 in a Heritage auction in 2016. This example is tied for finest with a MS 63. This is the only prooflike example graded of this type.
