Owner's Description

Lovely red and brown surfaces with faded red generously around the obverse devices and through the reverse fields. Otherwise, the surfaces have mellowed to light steel brown. There are a few light hairlines and a small spot by the date, but it is very attractive. A small planchet imperfection created an anomaly in the obverse rim at 9:00, noted for accuracy. Provenance: From the Brian Dobbins Collection of American Political Tokens. Earlier ex Presidential Coin and Antique, June 2011, lot 299. Tied with two others for TOP POP of only (5) of this type graded in copper. A MS 64 RB example sold for $1,175.00 in a Heritage auction in 2016. Dies by Robert Lovett Jr. of Philadelphia.
