TIED FOR FINEST OF ONLY EIGHT GRADED OF THIS TYPE (12/2018). THIS TYPE OF SO-CALLED DOLLAR WAS MADE IN MANY TYPES OF METALS, THIS EXAMPLE IS MADE OF RED GUTTA-PERCHA NATURAL LATEX THAT COMES FROM TREES OF THE SAME NAME. The vivid reddish-orange surfaces of this medal are as attractive as the day it was struck. This is a rare type, especially with the virtually pristine surface quality offered here.
