Owner's Description

Mintage: Estimated to be 300 pieces. Tied for Finest Known. This coin, referenced in Krause, was produced by the Mexican Mint as a specimen restrike in 1996. The original dies were re-tooled for this purpose and the coin has a beautiful satin matte finish which clearly distinguishes it from the earlier restrikes of 1949 through 1972. This is an exceptional coin that has been confirmed to be an authentic "Specimen" by both major grading companies. This coin was acquired through Allen Rowe of Northern Nevada Coin (BrokenCC) as a PCGS SP68 certified coin, Serial Number 1006627.68/21333857 and now resides in an NGC holder.
