Owner's Description

Very little is known of the provenance of this Newman 11-B Fugio cent. It is among the finest in existence with NGC and PCGS certifing only 14 in MS66, including 10 graded as brown and 4 as red and brown, according to Heritiage Auctions. It has a rarity rating of R4. I've included it in the collection since again, it pays homage to the Continental Dollar by its design on its obverse and reverse. It too is listed among "The Greatest 100 Medals and Tokens" by Bowers and Jaeger and is by far the easiest to acquire, except in conditions of MS 66. I also love this version since it references "United States" on the reverse rather than the alternative version of "States United."
