Male bust facing part r.; above 1784-July 13-1884; below bust Jabez Hamlin, First Mayor--all within garland-like circle; outside, around To Commemorate the First Centennial of the City of Middletown *; beaded border; Rv. City Seal in center circle; outside, above The Seal of the City of Middletown; outside, below Connecticut between two star-like emblems. (no beaded border on reverse). Plate coin used in Second Edition of So-Called Dollar Catalog. Ex Jeff Shevlin. Scarce.
