Medal, 1917, Gilt, WORLD WAR I GOOD LUCK MEDAL, TYPE 1, So Called Dollar, NGC AU58, Cert# 2621753-023. Maker of Type I is unknown. Sold for presentation by families and friends to departing servicemen. They were not popular and their sales were limited. TYPE I: Obv. Within circle, kneeling soldier aims rifle to front; legend above, Service With the American Army; below, In the Worlds War 1917; beaded border; Rev. In center, eagle, wings outstretched, stands r. on shield, flag and spears; below, Trust in the Lord / and / Keep Your Powder Dry; beaded border. HK-894A is Gilt, previously unknown, 1 or 2 graded examples. 35mm. Very Rare.
