Set Description
I started this set 11 years ago in June of 2003 and it has taken me ten years to complete all the coins in Mint State condition. for the exception of the proof 1940 1 Krona and 2 Knonur which I believe don't excite in proof condition. Back in 1986 a proof record was taken by Henry Spencer of all the proof coins in the collection of the Royal Mint and he didn't find any of these coins in proof but maybe only in proof like state. There are two set's of specimen coins each of a different metal type for the 1 Krona and 2 kronur that was made by Kingnorton mint ,,which is the mint that produced these coins in 1940. The Icelandic museum collection claims to have these coins in proof but I think they are also proof like as well. When I first started this collection I never thought that it would be so hard to find the Kingdom era coins in mint state and it has proven to be a real challenge to complete. I only found my last coin in April of 2013 ,,,,,A 1933 25 Aurar , Its the first and only one I know of in 11 years of seaching thats in MS. I need to be sent in the 1942 1 Eyrir and the 1942 10 Aurar for grading.
