Owner's Description
I think my coin dealer has a way with words. I got tempted and bought this uncirculated Morgan Dollar even though I had said before that I would be satisfied with AU example of this date. The coin is a good example of the New Orleans Mint coinage from that year: poorly struck and insipid with a pretty dull luster. Even on the picture some of the details (hair over the forehead of Miss Liberty and feathers on the eagle's breast seem weak/flat). However, under different ligt and small magnification there is the detail on both that warrants MS60 grade. All in all, it is not a "thrill coin." Nevertheless, it is pretty scarce in BU condition. The circulation mintag was 4,9 Million coins. Population 1 of 178 with 776 graded higher by NGC as of 2/2007.<br />I acquired this coin on 3/30/2006.
