Owner's Description

This coin is an absolute gem! Remarkable luster shines through beautiful rose, gold and powder-blue toning. The toning was what initially caught my eye in regard to this coin and I am very pleased that I was able to strike a great deal with Jack at David Lawrence Rare Coins for its purchase.<br /> The obverse has broader tone coverage than the reverse with a wonderful mixture of colors – the foremost of which is a rose-gold. Not as clearly seen in the scan though is a powder-blue that sits atop a super lustrous coin. This element is most evident on the reverse which features classic rim toning of rose to gold to powder-blue into the fields.<br /> The strike is very good, though not quite to NGC’s strict FBL standards. The state of preservation, as would be expected for a MS67, is outstanding as it is without any trace of distraction from contact.<br /> This coin replaces a nice, but rather pedestrian in comparison MS66 from Heritage Rare Coins.<br />
