Owner's Description
David Lawrence Rare Coins - (MS65FBL) This is a tough coin to locate in MS65FBL+ grades. I am very fortunate to have found this coin through a top-notch dealership like DLRC. The coin exhibits minor contact marks that are to be expected in a MS65 coin. There are a few points of contact in the prime focal areas that cause the coin to be accurately graded as a MS65FBL.

It is almost fully brilliant, garnering a 2***** DLRC rating. This coin has not been subjected to "dipping" as is so common with many non-color toned coins.

The coin has a great strike as would be expected to achieve FBL designation. Rick Tomaska, in his book The Complete Guide to Franklin Half Dollars, states that "only 30-40% of the MS 65 1960-D population are struck with full bell lines...primarily due to the reworked master die, which did not exhibit as much definition in the bell lines as the original die." [p.108]

This coin replaces an American Rare Coins MS64FBL brilliant, but I believe dipped coin.
